"It's a success to start the season like this" - Marlen Reusser takes first victory in Movistar colours at Trofeo Palma 2025 ahead of Mavi García

In women's cycling, Movistar Team made a stellar signing this winter and the arrival of Marlen Reusser is already paying off, and the 2025 season has just begun. The Swiss has taken the victory in the Trofeo Palma Femina.

The Movistar Team superstar has taken the victory from Mavi García at the sprint, who crossed the finish line in 2nd position just 2 seconds behind. The Spaniard attacked when the peloton was grouped together 25 kilometers from the finish. As soon as the breakaway was neutralized, Mavi García went on the attack without a second thought. Despite her 41 years, she is still one of the most fierce cyclists in the peloton. Even so, in the head-to-head battle Reusser's superiority was noticed, which closes a great day for the Movistar Team.

Speaking to Movistar Team, Marlen Reusser talks about her feelings after her first victory with the Spanish team: "We always had the victory in our minds, we knew we could do it and we arrived in Mallorca with a very strong team; without a doubt, we had to prove it. It's a success to start the season like this," she reflects. "This victory is also very special for me because I had a very difficult 2024, last year I was ill and had a heavy fall, so to start like this is very nice," Reusser concludes.
