"I’m definitely going to the World Championship with confidence" - Is Lucinda Brand destined for a 2nd Rainbow Jersey?

Lucinda Brand had already guaranteed herself the overall World Cup victory heading into the season's final round in Hoogerheide. But in front of her Dutch compatriots, the Baloise Glowi Lions leader confirmed herself as the best of the field, taking a dominant victory ahead of Blanka Kata Vas and Puck Pieterse on Sunday afternoon.
“It’s great to end the World Cup season like this. My start was good, but not great. Then I worked with Puck Pieterse and I felt good," reflected the former Dutch national and world champion in her post-race interview. "I wanted to continue together, but she made a mistake. Then I had to take my chance and keep riding. And the rest didn’t come back. I knew I had to keep going, so they had a hard time coming back, and that showed.”
Now, all eyes turn to next weekend's Cyclocross World Championships. Can Brand continue this strong form? “I really don’t know. It’s hard to analyze," she previews. "We’ll just assume that all the pieces of the puzzle are falling into place at the moment, so I’m definitely going to the World Championship with confidence.”
