Sam Bennett had an imposing victory on his first sprint finish of the Season at
Vuelta a San Juan. The Bora-Hansgrohe rider beat Michael Morkov and Giacomo Nizzolo and was very happy at the end of the finish line.
“I worked really hard this off-season and all my teammates did too, so it’s really nice to kick off the season on a high”, stated Bennett at the finish line
Bennett benefited from an amazing lead out work by his teammate Danny Van Poppel who lead him out in perfect conditions for the win. He also benefited from Fabio Jakobsen bad positioning due to the street obstacles present on the last kilometre.
" After a not so great season last year, it feels like I returned to my old self now. It was a fast and hectic finale and I really want to thank my teammates for their perfect work and lead out!" he concluded.
Bora-Hansgrohe worked perfectly and team sports director Bernhard Eisel couldn't be more happy with this victory, praising not only Bennett but also the team work.
