INEOS Grenadiers continue to be cycling's highest budget team. However, they're dominance from the 2010's lays very distance, and currently the British team seek to surge from within the strongest teams in the peloton.
“We can say that nowadays we are no longer the prey, but the hunter. That provides a slightly different view. We have clearly transitioned to a new form of leadership," team CEO John Allert told GCN. "We have a nice selection and have started the season well. I feel a lot of optimism within the team and cycling. But everyone can see that we have some excellent classification riders in our ranks."
The new team leader reports motivation starting the new year, and is more than aware of it's role. Aiming for a Grand Tour victory is not a realistic ambition into the upcoming Grand Tours, but goals are clear: “I believe we have good riders for the general classification, including two former Tour winners."
"But we also have some phenomenal riders from the new generation in our team. Our objective is to finish as close as possible to the final podium, in any Grand Tour. Whether that is for this year or next year remains to be seen. The competition is stiff, but we embrace that," he concluded.
