"In the final, I could make a good sprint, and I’m really happy for this victory" - Diego Ulissi on his stage victory in Tour du Limousin

The third stage of the Tour du Limousin concluded with Diego Ulissi’s victory. The Italian rider fought his way to an impressive victory in a sprint finish ahead of Greg Van Avermaet.

“It was a very tight race with a tough course,” said Ulissi. He continues, “Me, Rui Costa, and Oliveira rode well, staying ahead in the group with the best riders and managed to fight it out for the win.”

His teammate Rui Costa was initially leading the race in the final two kilometers, but the rider made a blunder and took a wrong turn. In the end, it was a sprint between Ulissi and Van Avermaet. This is his second victory of the season. “In the final, I could make a good sprint, and I’m really happy for this victory,” concluded Ulissi. He holds the second position in GC,8 seconds behind overall leader Alex Aranburu.
