Team UAE Emirates rider Diego Ulissi has won the third stage of the Tour du Limousin. He beat Alex Aranburu and Greg Van Avermaet to secure the victory.
The breakaway included Clement Carisey, Alexis Gougeard, Dimitri Claeys, and Romain Cardis. The group of four riders took a lead of over 3 minutes. Alex Aranburu led the peloton along with his Movistar teammates throughout the stage. The peloton finally caught up to the breakaway riders in the final 20 kilometers.
Guillaume Martin launched an attack 10 kilometers before the finish line. But he failed to take the considerable lead. It was time for the final attack. UAE Team Emirates rider Rui Costa was the first to launch an attack, but he took a wrong turn, costing him the victory. His teammate Diego Ulissi crossed the finish line first to secure his first stage victory in the tour. Greg Van Avermaet finished in second place, while Alex Aranburu secured bronze.
