"I'll do everything I can, otherwise I wouldn't have changed teams" - Primoz Roglic hoping 2024 Tour de France will vindicate Visma departure

For the first time ever, Primoz Roglic, Jonas Vingegaard, Tadej Pogacar and Remco Evenepoel, winners of ten of the last thirteen Grand Tours, will all be side by side at the startline of the 2024 Tour de France.

The presence of the so called 'Big 4' of Grand Tour cycling, has made the 2024 Tour de France one of the most eagerly anticipated races in a very long time. One of those hoping to compete at the very top of the general classification will be Roglic himself and the Slovenian, who is only missing the Tour de France from his Grand Tour palmares, is determined to put on a show on his return to the Grand Boucle.

"It's gonna be lovely. The battle of the 'Big 4', that's what people wanna see," the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe leader, who has a long and intertwining history against all three of Pogacar, Vingegaard and Evenepoel, says in conversation with Het Nieuwsblad. "I already know that we're gonna push each other to a higher level. I don't want to think about it, but it's gonna be crazy, from start to finish."

Having left Team Visma | Lease a Bike for the then named BORA - hansgrohe at the end of 2023, one of the main reasons for Roglic was the desire for more Tour de France leadership opportunities, having seen Vingegaard usurp his position as Tour de France leader at Visma. "I'll do everything I can, otherwise I wouldn't have changed teams. I don't want to regret a thing after my career," the three time Vuelta a Espana and one time Giro d'Italia winner adds. "But it's not the Tour that decides my life, although I give up a lot for it. I haven't slept in my own bed for 2 months."
