For the second time in three years,
Wout van Aert has taken overall victory at the
Tour of Britain after a thrilling final stage in Caerphilly.
Although
Carlos Rodriguez managed to solo to the stage win, van Aert kept the time gap small enough to secure the overall victory for the second time in his illustrious career. "At that moment I didn't think I could still win the final classification," van Aert admitted afterwards, referencing Rodriguez's attack that saw the Tour de France stage winner ride clear.
