"I have my own thoughts about that, but I will do everything I can to keep the situation as it is now" - Primoz Roglic has mixed feelings about "GC Kuss hype-train"

On the Alto de l'Angliru, Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard rode away from Sepp Kuss, but in the last mountain stage of the Vuelta a España they stayed at the side of the red jersey wearer.

"I am the first who wants Sepp to win this Vuelta," said the Slovenian. He indicated to journalist Daniel Friebe that the team had made the choice and that he himself had mixed feelings. After the stage, however, he emphasized that he was happy – for now. "But there are still tough days ahead. First we look at tomorrow, then at the next stages."

Roglic later acknowledged in conversation with another journalist that it was difficult not to be able to race for the overall victory. "Yeah, for sure. I have my own thoughts about that, but I will do everything I can to keep the situation as it is now," can be seen on images shared by NBC Sports.

While the GC remained as it was, Remco Evenepoel rode from the early break to the stage victory. "Impressive," says Roglic. "He proves once again what a good rider he is, a world champion in all disciplines of road cycling. He really deserves it."
