Nairo Quintana was officially presented yesterday as the new
Movistar Team rider in Colombia. After a more than complicated year in which he did not find a team due to his positive for tramadol in the Tour de France 2022, Quintana will return to the WorldTour in 2024 with the team in which he won the Giro d'Italia, the Vuelta a España and won 3 podiums in the Tour de France.
Quintana has made it very clear from the start that his role in the Spanish team will not be the same as it was in his glory years and that he is clear that at this time he cannot set himself too high a challenge.
"It's always good to dream and it's free. Having been second twice in the Tour de France, it put us to dream and it has been tried. We fought to do it. Today we have to raise our hand and hand over the baton. This generation is strong and it's been years. I'm not going to lie or put myself with more commitments that I can't," confessed Nairo in his presentation;
"That yellow jersey was dreamed of and we didn't do badly because I was on the podium. If we look back, before 2013, none of us thought we could get there. Then we did it with Egan Bernal and it came true. On my part, I hand over the baton and it will be a responsibility for all Colombians," he concluded;
