Opening Weekend for 2025 is almost upon us. One of the most watched riders this time around is sure to the
Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team's star signing over the winter off-season,
Tom Pidcock. Ahead of
Omloop Het Nieuwsblad though, the Brit is keen to play down expectations.
Those expectations of Pidcock have been raised somewhat this year. The double Olympic gold medallist has made a stunning start to life at his new team, taking two stages of the AlUla Tour and ending up with his first ever general classification win on debut, back in late January / early February, before adding a stage of the Vuelta a Andalucia to his palmares last week, finishing 3rd overall.
"Omloop Het Nieuwsblad is always an interesting race. It’s the first one day race where everyone can really gauge how they came out the winter,"
previews Pidcock in an official press release posted on the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team's website. "I’ve never been on the podium in the Omloop. If I could manage that I would be very happy because I don’t think it suits me perfectly. However, I know my shape is good and it’s important to keep building on the momentum I have created with the team.”
