Hospital trip shows no sign of serious injury for Biniam Girmay following Clasica San Sebastian crash

Biniam Girmay's hopes of taking victory at the Clasica San Sebastian on his return to racing post-Tour de France came to a premature end after an early crash. Thankfully, after a trip to hospital, no major damage for the Eritrean.

The 23-year-old was forced to abandon after the incident, being taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. As Remco Evenepoel took victory in the Basque Country, Girmay was being checked over for any broken bones. In an announcement on the official Intermarché-Circus-Wanty Twitter account, the team have now revealed the positive news.
