Great Britain's Ethan Vernon injured after crash during Spanish training camp

Israel - Premier Tech have taken on their first team training camp now in December but it was not all fun and games for every rider on the 'Costa Blanca'. British sprinter Ethan Vernon leaves Spain with a fractured collarbone after coming down during a training ride.

The Israeli team shared the following message on social media this morning: "Following a crash during the team's training camp in Spain, Ethan Vernon underwent surgery on a left collarbone fracture on Wednesday morning. The surgery was a success and Ethan has since been discharged from hospital".

"We wish him a speedy return back to full health and look forward to seeing him continue his preparations for the 2025 season". This injury will certainly affect the start of the season for the 24-year old who will likely miss out on a few weeks of training out on the road. It shouldn't be dramatic towards his spring and summer goals however.

Vernon has gained a position of leadership in the team after signing straight from Soudal - Quick-Step, and has this year won stages at the Tour des Alpes Maritimes, and most recently at the World Tour-level Tour of Guangxi where he was the winner of the points classification - he was also the winner of this classification at the Tour of Britain.
