VIDEO | Getting all the bad luck out of the way? Wout van Aert almost crashes in Arenberg during Paris-Roubaix recon due to puncture

Team Visma | Lease a Bike are out on a recon ride of Paris-Roubaix today and Wout van Aert has been followed by much of the local media during his ride. This meant that a video was being recorded from a drone during the Trouée d'Arenberg, and the Belgian was lucky to escape a crash after he punctured.

The unbelievable video was shared by Het Laatste Nieuws, who had a drone above the Visma rider in none other than the most famous cobbled sector in the world. Straightforward, but the brutality of the cobbles was shown in perfection as out of nowhere he suffered a front wheel puncture.

Incredibly, he managed to stay upright - although visibly that was a challenge - and escaped towards the small paved section on the side. This was a very tricky recon of the Hell of the North for van Aert, but he will be lucky if the punctures he suffers all take place before the race.
