Fred Wright will be one of the leading names of the team his employer
Bahrain - Victorious selected to enjoy the endless deserts of Saudi Arabia. The team from Bahrain will be defending four podium finishes from 2023, including a stage win of Jonathan Milan. Additionally, Dusan Rajovic was second in last year's opening stage.
"I am very much looking forward to returning to Saudi Arabia. I have great memories of the race, because it was my first race for the team in 2020. We managed to win a few stages with Phil Bauhaus and also the final classification," Wright notes.
A race that's often marked by cruel crosswinds and echelons might prove to be a good test for Wright before the classics season. "We also have to keep an eye on the wind, but for a classics rider that is a fun part of racing. All in all, it is just an ideal preparation race to test the legs for the coming months and I would like to start on a good foot."
