Great Britain have revealed their lineup for the upcoming World Championships, and it will be led by the young duo of
Fred Wright and
Ethan Hayter who will search for medals in the road race and time-trial respectively.
After winning the Tour de Pologne and showing several other high-end results, Hayter will be a very dangerous outsider for the World Championships, following two successful years with INEOS Grenadiers. He will be representing the team in the time-trial aswell, seeking a medal. Fred Wright, the other team leader, has been showing great form over the Vuelta a Espana, after a strong Tour de France and a recent renewal which is seeing him highly motivated to race.
“We’re going to open up the opportunity around him and base the day on him. We’ve got Ethan focused on the time trial and we think he has a good shout there for a medal and then Fred is for the road race," team coach Matt Brammeyer told Velonews after the announcement. The team will feature Ben Turner and Ben Tulett as further options for the hilly terrain. Cousins Ben and Connor Swift, alongside Jake Stewart and Luke Rowe complete the classics-oriented lineup.
Pfeiffer Georgi will be the leader in the women's team, featuring also Anna Henderson as an outsider.
