Dylan Teuns is approaching the end of the 2026 season with his future still unresolved, with the 34-year-old set to leave Cofidis when his current contract expires and talks ongoing with three potential teams over a move for 2027.
The former Fleche Wallonne winner joined Cofidis on a two-year deal ahead of 2025, but there will be no extension. According to WielerFlits, Teuns is still negotiating over his next destination, with a domestique role considered the likeliest route for him to continue his career.
Teuns first broke through in 2017 with overall victories at the Tour de Wallonie, Tour de Pologne and Arctic Race of Norway, before finishing third at Il Lombardia a year later. He has since added two Tour de France stage wins, at La Planche des Belles Filles in 2019 and Le Grand-Bornand in 2021 across a career totalling 14 pro wins.

From Fleche Wallonne winner to a difficult 2026

His biggest one-day success came in 2022, when he beat Alejandro Valverde on the Mur de Huy to win Fleche Wallonne during a spring in which he also finished sixth at both the Tour of Flanders and Liege-Bastogne-Liege. Later that year he finished 18th overall at the Tour de France before leaving Bahrain Victorious for Israel-Premier Tech midway through the season.
The results remained strong enough in the years that followed. In 2024, Teuns finished second at Brabantse Pijl and eighth at the Tour of Flanders, while also placing 15th at both Amstel Gold Race and Liege-Bastogne-Liege. His first season with Cofidis then began with second overall at Etoile de Besseges.
This year has brought far less. Teuns finished sixth overall at Etoile de Besseges but went through the spring without a major result, placing 60th at the Tour of Flanders, 51st at Paris-Roubaix, 40th at Amstel Gold Race and 21st at Fleche Wallonne before abandoning Liege-Bastogne-Liege.
He was also absent from the Tour de France, five years after the second of his two stage victories in the race.

Better results arrive late in the season

Teuns’ form has picked up again in recent weeks. He finished 12th overall at the Deutschland Tour in August before taking 11th at Bretagne Classic, then followed that with ninth at the Grand Prix de Wallonie in September.
At the CRO Race, Teuns finished eighth on the decisive stage into Labin and eventually took sixth overall, 41 seconds behind winner Tobias Svarre. He also finished two places behind 21-year-old Cofidis teammate Sam Maisonobe.
Those results come as Teuns continues discussions over his future away from Cofidis. With no agreement yet announced for 2027, one of Belgium’s most experienced active professionals remains on the market despite ending the season in better form than he showed through much of the spring.
For now, three teams remain in discussions with Teuns, with his next move still to be decided before the 2027 season gets underway.
