Florian Sénéchal departs Soudal - Quick-Step in favour of Arkea - B&B Hotels

Florian Senechal will leave Soudal - Quick-Step after six seasons to join up with Arkea - B&B Hotels on a two-year deal in 2024.

“The conversation I had with Emmanuel Hubert immediately convinced me that I had to choose Arkéa-B&B Hotels,” says the former French National Champion. “Emmanuel knew how to find the right words, immediately put me at ease and quickly explained to me what he would expect from me and what my place within the team would be. His listening skills were crucial. There was immediately a good feeling between us. I like the freedom he wants to give me in some cases and the task he wants to give me in Arnaud Démare's future sprinters' train."

This news comes after a confusing morning in which conflicting reports have both alleged and denied that Soudal - Quick-Step riders have been told they are free to find new teams due to the potential merger between the team and Jumbo-Visma.

"I have always maintained a relationship with Arnaud. I'm coming back to France, in a team that listens to me and that wants to keep growing. Arnaud will be a good leader, I know that," Senechal says of Demare. "Our collaboration will soon bear fruit. Arkéa-B&B Hotels aims to participate in the sprints and continue to make progress in the classics. Those are two parts that suit me.”
