Egan Bernal shows support for Caja Rural rider left in wheelchair after car accident

Egan Bernal, characterized by his talent in cycling, also complements this with his incredible personality and his great way of being, outside of sport. This time, before the start of stage 20 of the 2023 Vuelta a Espana, he experienced an emotional moment with a Spanish cyclist who was in a wheelchair and competing for Caja Rural.
The moment took place minutes before the official start of the twentieth day of the Spanish stage in Manzanares, when Bernal spoke to and learned about the situation surrounding the Iberian rider Sergio Martin, who suffered a serious car accident several months ago and suffered several fractures that left him in a wheelchair.
The Spanish cyclist, who represents Caja Rural, had a meeting with the champion of the 2019 Tour de France. The Spaniard didn't want to miss the start of the 20th stage of the Vuelta 2023 and here Sergio took the opportunity to talk to the Colombian.
The emotional moment was shared by the Spanish team on their X account (formerly known as twitter), in a photo where you can see the Colombian cyclist talking to Martín about his life today. It's worth remembering that Egan experienced a similar moment in 2022 and despite the severity, he was a little luckier.
However, it wasn't the only contact these two cyclists had, as Bernal been sending him messages of strength and courage for a long time, supporting him in this extremely difficult and complicated time via social media.
