The Vuelta a Espana does not slow down and the start of stage 6 has proven brutal for several. A few crashes have already taken place including those of Jay Vine and Lenny Martínez, but victims of crashes and illnesses from earlier in the race have already abandoned: Lorenzo Milesi and Andrea Bagioli.
The Soudal - Quick-Step arrived at the finish around 15 minutes after the finale yesterday and was reportedly ill; this leaves Remco Evenepoel with one less domestique for the stages that lay ahead. Another figure abandoning was Lorenzo Milesi, who was the first wearer of the red jersey at the Vuelta, he had crashed on the day he led the race, but this morning hit the deck once again and pulled the plug on his Grand Tour debut.
