Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe showed their strength and depth
at the 2025 Tour Down Under, with
Finn Fisher-Black delivering an impressive
performance in his debut race for the team. The 23-year-old, who joined from
UAE Team Emirates at the end of 2024, secured third place in the general classification
(GC) and demonstrated his potential as a key rider for the team.
Fisher-Black shone across the race, finishing third on both
the third and fifth stages before ultimately securing third place overall in
the GC. Reflecting on his performance,
he shared in a team press release, “On
the penultimate stage on Willunga Hill, I felt I had a strong opportunity. I
gave it a shot to bridge the gap to the front, but it was a bit too wide, so I
had to settle for third.
“That said, we came into this race with the goal of
targeting a podium finish in the GC and securing stage wins with Sam, so we're
definitely satisfied with our overall result. Personally, I'm really happy to
have achieved my first GC podium with my new team - it’s a great feeling and a
solid step forward.”
The Tour Down Under marked a strong start to Fisher-Black's
tenure with Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe, as he made an immediate impact and
demonstrated his capabilities on both hilly and flat terrain. The team’s focus
on achieving a podium finish in the GC and stage wins paid off, cementing their
position as a definite squad to watch in 2025.
As the season progresses, Fisher-Black’s performance
highlights his promise as a rider capable of delivering results for his new
team. His GC podium is not only a personal milestone but also a sign of the
team's effective strategy and preparation. He could certainly prove to be a
great signing going forward.
