After abandoning the Giro d'Italia with Covid-19, Filippo Ganna will return to racing. The Italian time-trialist had a very strong classics period but couldn't achieve his goals at the Giro, now he begins his preparation for the World Championships.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the INEOS Grenadiers rider will take on the eight-day Tour de Suisse, which features two time-trials where he may fight for victories. Ganna will not take part in the Tour de France as it does not feature any time-trial where he could succeed, and will instead follow a more specific preparation for Glasgow in the weeks that follow the Tour.
