Busy week at AG2R Citroën Team as the team announces not just one but two contract extensions. The more recognized name would be 25-year old Austrian climber Felix Gall, who's been with the team since 2022 when he joined from Dutch Team DSM where he spent all of his career till that point.
"I am really happy to continue my career with the AG2R Citroën Team and appreciate the trust it places in me. I found my place in this high-level squad, where I can evolve gradually. Since the beginning of our time together, we have put in place a long-term plan focused on my sporting development and I am delighted that I can continue," the rider said in press release.
Gall immediately impressed with multiple top-10 results at the start of 2022, including 6th in Tour of Alps GC or 12th in Itzulia GC to later make his Grand Tour debut at Giro d'Italia with the French team.
This year, the young Austrian followed similar programme, improving his results from 2022, as he completed Faun-Ardeche Classic in 6th, Tirreno as 16th overall, 9th in GP Miguel Indurain, 10th in Itzulia (along with four top-10 stage finishes), second in opening stage of Tour of the Alpes (where he crashed later in the race) and finally 2nd place in highly-conquested Mercan'Tour Classic.
Austrain's next schedule should include Tour de Suisse later this week as final preparation race before Tour de France.
