Fabio Jakobsen beats Ewan and Groenewegen to win at Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen

It was a world-class sprint in a modest Belgian semi-classic, and the finale saw an extensive battle for the win, where Fabio Jakobsen took the win as he beat Caleb Ewan to the line.

The Belgian race was always to be decided in the final sprint, with flat roads and a startlist featuring several high-level riders to feature in the finale. Into the final kilometers the leadout was very nervous with many strong teams fighting for position.

Intermarché and then Lotto Soudal led into the final 2.5 kilometers, but in the final kilometer chaos was imminent with no team able to form a proper leadout. It was a very tense final meters, with Luca Mozzato launching his move first.

The Italian took the momentum, but was faced with Fabio Jakobsen who stormed to take the win, with Caleb Ewan and Dylan Groenewegen taking the remaining spots in the podium.
