Stage 10 of the
Vuelta a Espana went to a Wout van Aert who demonstrated his all-round ability. The Belgian won from the breakaway, adding his third victory in this edition after the other two in sprints in the peloton.
But what was more interesting was whether the group of favorites could take time off
Ben O'Connor in the fight for the red jersey. With several notable climbs throughout the stage, Enric Mas,
Mikel Landa, Primoz Roglic and company could have come to hurt O'Connor and reduce that large amount of time that the Australian still holds in the overall classification of La Vuelta. Although they didn't take a single second off him, Landa himself, speaking after the stage, says he's not worried.
"It was a bit as expected, a fight at the start for the breakaway, back everyone thinking about tomorrow, the day after, what's coming this week," starts saying the Soudal Quick-Step leader in this Vuelta a España, who at the moment is 5th at 5 minutes and 17 seconds behind the red jersey of Ben O'Connor, and 42 seconds behind 4th his compatriot Enric Mas.
Although he does not consider that it was serious that Ben O'Connor did not lose time, Landa sends a warning to both the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale rider and the rest of the overall competitors who will have to give everything until Sunday: "This week we can try to make him lose time. From tomorrow we could see something," added Landa.
