The
Bloeizone Fryslân Tour had it's finale today with
Liv Racing Xstra'S Rachele Barbieri taking the win in the final sprint of the race. Trek Segafredo's
Ellen van Dijk confirmed the overall win of the race as she stayed safe in the peloton on the final day.
Despite Jumbo-Visma having tried to put the pressure on the peloton, splitting it at one point during the last hour of racing, a bunch sprint was inevitable on the race's final 137-kilometer long stage which saw a circuit around Drachten. The final sprint was furious and it was won by Rachele Barbieri who has taken her first win as a professional here in the Netherlands.
With a different list of riders in the final sprint comparing to yesterday, the podium was complete by
Martina Fidanza and
Elodie Le Bail.
Ellen van Dijk arrived in the peloton and sealed the overall win. The time-trial proved decisive as the podium was as expected kept by
Riejanne Markus and
Marlen Reusser.
