This week the Italian Autumn Classics begin, with a whole month of one-day racing in Italy that will see several hilly, mountainous and even gravel races throughout, which culminate with the fifth and final monument of the season: Il Lombardia.
Egan Bernal returns to a country that has seen him perform so well in the past.
As
Daniel Martínez will surely take on the team leadership on the opening two races, it will be Egan Bernal's presence that will be highlighted the most, as the Colombian resumes his racing schedule for the final part of the season. Bernal made a miraculous recovery from severe injuries suffered back in January to resume competiton at the Tour of Denmark, quickly followed by the Deutschland Tour - both races in which he rode in support of his teammates.
