Egan Bernal returns to Italy as he starts Italian Autumn Classics campaign at Toscana today

This week the Italian Autumn Classics begin, with a whole month of one-day racing in Italy that will see several hilly, mountainous and even gravel races throughout, which culminate with the fifth and final monument of the season: Il Lombardia. Egan Bernal returns to a country that has seen him perform so well in the past.

As Daniel Martínez will surely take on the team leadership on the opening two races, it will be Egan Bernal's presence that will be highlighted the most, as the Colombian resumes his racing schedule for the final part of the season. Bernal made a miraculous recovery from severe injuries suffered back in January to resume competiton at the Tour of Denmark, quickly followed by the Deutschland Tour - both races in which he rode in support of his teammates.

He will have a similar role here surely, as the team will back up Martínez who is building up towards Il Lombardia. Laurens de Plus may also be an outsider for the race, as the team counts on it's experienced domestiques Salvatore Puccio and Jonathan Castroviejo, and the lineup is completed by youngsters Brandon Rivera and Kim Heiduk.

INEOS Grenadiers for Giro della Toscana and Coppa Sabatini: Egan Bernal, Daniel Martínez, Jonathan Castroviejo, Laurens de Plus, Kim Heiduk, Salvatore Puccio and Brandon Rivera.
