Despite the start of the Giro d'Italia this Saturday, there are other races still taking place in the UCI calendar, such as the Tour of Hungary. INEOS Grenadiers arrives at the Hungarian event with a very strong team led by Egan Bernal who hopes to maintain the good sensations shown in Romandie last week.
The Colombian managed to finish eighth overall after finishing in the same position in the very tough mountain stage that decided the Swiss race. Now, he will arrive in Hungary to try to continue with his good sensations that could end up leading him to be chosen to race the next Tour de France.
He needs kilometers before that after a blank year, which is why he faces an alternative calendar that is very different from what other riders may face, with his Grand Tour participation still uncertain at this point of the season.
Luke Plapp should be the other INEOS man fighting for the overall at the Tour de Hongrie, both being strong contenders for the final win. The team is completed by Michael Leonard, Ecuadorian Jhonatan Narvaez, Ben Tulett and Italian sprinter Elia Viviani.
