The rumours had arisen lately, and the confirmation of Eddie Dunbar's departure from INEOS Grenadiers seems confirmed, as the Irish climbers will be heading to Team BikeExchange - Jayco.
The report comes from VeloNews, which says a multi-year dealed has been signed, and it will be announced once the transfer season opens. It is unclear if the Australian team will stay at World Tour level, however Dunbar should have the freedom he lacks in INEOS, as Simon Yates is currently the only Grand Tour contender in the squad.
Dunbar was expected to ride the Giro d'Italia, but was pulled out after the Tour of the Alps, cementing his departure. He has nevertheless succeeded in smaller races, winning the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali and the Tour de Hongrie earlier this year.
Dunbar was hired by INEOS in 2019 as a young talent, but has only raced one Grand Tour which was the Giro d'Italia. With the lack of opportunities in big races and new talents emerging within the team, the 25-year old is heading towards new horizons for his own chances.
