Bahrain - Victorious'
Domen Novak has been linked to
UAE Team Emirates once again, now reported by Gazzetta dello Sport who point out that a move for 2023 is being discussed and the Slovenian could join Tadej Pogacar.
The rumours first emerged during the opening stage of the Tour of Slovenia, as Novak was the only rider who managed to keep up with Pogacar and his teammate Rafal Majka who dominated the race. Compatriots, Novak has shown to be a reliable domestique in his current team and showed impressive form towards the final week of the Giro d'Italia, eventually finishing second in the decisive penultimate day into Passo Fedaia.
The 26-year old has been part of Bahrain since 2017. His only pro win was at the 2019 national championships, however he's formed part of the team's Slovenian contingent and has ridden five Grand Tours. With the support around Pogacar growing at UAE Team Emirates, aswell as his power in influencing the team's choices, Novak is a possibility for the coming seasons.
