"Did not show up on the XR or scans..." - INEOS not only rode Tour de France with one rider carrying fractures, but two

Netcompany INEOS did not achieve the results they hoped for at the Tour de France, not having any rider in contention for a result in the overall classification at the end of the three weeks but also missing out on a stage victory. Partially that is because they finished the race with several injured riders.

INEOS' initial selection for the Tour was already controversial and included an injured rider. During the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Joshua Tarling suffered a crash and a fractured collarbone, but he was selected to the Tour nevertheless.
It was not a simple injury either, but one that limited the Briton throughout the whole three weeks he had said: "I had a rough start, but it’s coming. You just have like a rev limiter, you know? I get to the point where I get out of breath, and then I can’t get it back."
Then on stage 12, a mass crash involving several sprinters took down Dorian Godon. Until then, the Frenchman had already struggled to obtain results such as those he had during the spring, but the fall made it even harder. From there on it was not a race thinking of results for Godon, but one of survival.
"As you all know, I fought hard to make it to Paris at TDF, hoping and dreaming for better days," Godon said in an Instagram post. He did not know it at the time, but he carried four broken ribs throughout the entire final half of the Tour, which went undiagnosed.
"Once I got back home, I took a few days to rest. But as I was still feeling some pain, my medical team and I decided to run additional tests to understand what was going on. Earlier this week, we discovered on the RMN that I had suffered four rib fractures during the crash on Stage 12 which did not show up on the XR or scans at the time," he explained.

Godon back to training but with return unclear
Godon struggled to make it to Paris, but did so, even though he was fighting a battle against his injuries. He has taken time off the bike, and after the diagnosis, has taken additional rest. Now, the former French national champion returned to training.
"I’ve started riding my bike again, with the approval of my coach and medical team. For now, I’m listening to my body and taking things one day at a time. I’m incredibly grateful for all the support from the team, and I can’t wait to be back at 100%," he concluded.
Godon's return to racing still does not have a date, but he is expected to be back in the peloton still this season, in search of much needed victories for the British.

- Del Toro inevitably will be the focus for Mexican cycling. It's a given that he will bring out new talent. It happens all the time. Slovenia with Roglic and Pogacar is a good example Another classic example Is the Columbian Louis Herrera. Columbian cycling was nowhere till Herrera won King of the Mountains in the 1985 tour.
