Demi Vollering wins Tour de France Femmes time-trial and takes over yellow jersey

Grace Brown crashed in the Tour de France Femmes' time-trial and it opened way for the other favourites. Demi Vollering put in a staggering time and took over the race lead after being the fastest against the clock on stage 3.

After this morning's effort in Rotterdam, the riders take on the second stage of the day which was a 6-kilometer time-trial. One not built to make massive differences but it would open up the GC fight and also put Charlotte Kool to the test in the defense of the yellow jersey.

Grace Brown was one of the riders who suffered from bad luck on the day, crashing, and being put out of contention for the win because of it. Her rival at the World Championships Chloé Dygert didn't suffer from a crash this time around and put in a very strong time at the finish, contesting for the victory as she beat the very impressive time of Loes Adegeest.

It looked like the win could be between these two riders but that was not the case, the main favourite for the overall classification Demi Vollering put her foot down and put in the massive time of 7:25 minutes, 5 seconds faster than her two rivals. This time put her in the hot seat but also possibly in the race lead.

Lorena Wiebes crossed the finish line with 9 seconds of disadvantage over Vollering and Charlotte Kool lost 25, losing the yellow jersey.
