Demi Vollering takes dominant solo win and becomes the winner of the 2025 Itzulia Women

Team SD Worx - ProTime have won every single stage of Itzulia Women now for several years, but today that has been broken by it's own former rider. Demi Vollering was the woman to beat and she has taken a comfortable win on the queen stage to conquer the overall classification.

The 112-kilometer long stage was to be decided on the final climb to Mendizorrotz (6.4Km at 5.3%) and here Demi Vollering hit the front of the peloton with 15 kilometers to go, distancing all her rivals and creating the race-winning gap. With Mischa Bredewold not being able to match on the uphill, the FDJ - Suez rider was clear for GC success. Sarah van Dam and Justine Ghekiere rode to second and third on the day almost a minute back.
