De la Cruz, Romo and Battistella among Astana's main weapons to succeed at Vuelta a Espana

A very mixed teams with plenty weapons and focus on the hilly days. That is frequently how Astana Qazaqstan Team presents itself to the Grand Tours and that will once again be the case at the Vuelta a Espana.

The Kazakh team travel to Spain with two riders from Kazakhstan, Andrey Zeits and Vadim Pronskiy. Both are climbers and will be chasing results on the toughest days of the race, most likely they will have the company of David de la Cruz and Joe Dombrowski who share goals on similar days.

However they can also perform on some hilly stages. Their biggest weapons will likely be Javier Romo who's just off of a seventh place at the Vuelta a Burgos - where he showed tremendous form. Samuele Battistella was ninth at the Tour de Pologne recently and should also be a good card to play. Luis León Sánchez and Fabio Felline complete the lineup, most likely aiming for similar days.
