There were rumours of David Dekker joining Arkéa-Samsic next year, but now the French team has officially confirmed the news via social media. The Dutchman will be part of the Arkea-Samsic from the next year.
“I am happy to join the Arkéa-Samsic team,” said Dekker. The rider spent two years with Jumbo Visma, but this season has not been good for him. “This is, for me, a new level crossed during my career, a choice made after my two years spent with Jumbo-Visma. My 2022 season has been marked by bad luck, and my objective next year will be to obtain results during the sprints or the classics on which I could take my chance.”
The rider aims to increase the number of victories with the help of his new team. “I am confident in my abilities, I want to obtain results, victories under my new colours,” said Dekker. Team manager Emmanuel Hubert is very happy with this new addition to the team. “David is an up-and-coming sprinter who has shown his best side at Jumbo-Visma, one of the very best teams in the WorldTour. David will be able to further sharpen his qualities within our team. He can ride on his own account but will also ride in service of the experienced guys," concluded Hubert.
