Daniel Martinez wins Colombian time-trial national championships; Nairo Quintana outside of podium

This Thursday, January 25 2024, the time trial of the national championships of Colombia has been disputed. The riders have given their all to win the elite men's race, where Daniel Martinez has excelled over the rest to win the desired gold and also earn the right to wear the colors of his country in all the time trials of 2024.
The 27-year-old rider could not have made a better start to a season that has also seen him join BORA - hansgrohe from INEOS Grenadiers. Martinez completed the course in a time of 54:02 to finish ahead of Brandon Rivera, 2nd with a time of 55:40, and Rodrigo Contreras, who completed the last step of the podium with a time of 55:58.
Nairo Quintana could not get the victory, but with a time of 56:22 he was very close to the podium, but recovering sensations on the asphalt to face an exciting season with Movistar Team.
In this way, Martinez has become Colombian time trial champion for the fourth time in his career, after those achieved in 2019, 2020 and 2022.
The winners of the last editions of the elite men's time trial at the Colombian Nationals have been, since 2018, Egan Bernal, Daniel Martinez (2019, 2020, 2022 and now 2024), Walter Vargas (2021) and Miguel Angel Lopez (2023).
