Damiano Caruso reveals the final schedule of his career; before he moves to sports director role!

This season is the last dance of Bahrain - Victorious veteran Damiano Caruso. Aged 38, the Sicilian is ready to say goodbye to his long professional career which was highlighted by a 2nd place overall at the 2021 Giro d'Italia. A series of eight one-day races will lead to his final appointment - Il Lombardia on October 10 - just two days before Caruso's 39th birthday.
Caruso will conclude his active career on home soil in Italy. After having participated in both Giro d'Italia - where he finished 9th overall - and Tour de France earlier this year, the team allowed it's important road captain to have a bit of a "farewell tour" without the added strain of further stage-racing.

  • 10.09 Gran Premio città di Peccioli - Coppa Sabatini
  • 12.09 Memorial Marco Pantani
  • 13.09 Trofeo Matteotti
  • 03.10 Giro dell'Emilia
  • 06.10 Tre Valli Varesine
  • 10.10 Il Lombardia
From 2027 onwards, Caruso will stay within the world of cycling, moving behind the steering wheel at Bahrain - Victorious as newly-appointed sports director. In his new role, he'll join forces with fellow renowned ex-professionals within Bahrain's staff ranks Franco Pellizotti, Enrico Gasparotto, or Roman Kreuziger.
