INEOS Grenadiers is carrying out a thorough reconstruction of its squad for the 2024 season. Thus, according to sources close to the British squad, they are currently sounding out 3 riders to raise their competitive level for next year:
Primoz Roglic,
Remco Evenepoel and
Cian Uijtdebroeks.
Thus, the British team is in the midst of a rebuilding process with such important departures as
Tao Geoghegan Hart (Lidl-Trek), Daniel Martinez (Bora), Pave Sivakov (UAE),
Ben Tulett (Jumbo-Visma) and
Luke Plapp (Jayco).
It would be surprising that, after letting go of very talented young British riders like Tao or Tulett, they would consider a signing like the Belgian Uijtdebroeks. It is not at all surprising that they are going for established stars like Remco or Roglic. We know that the main target is the Belgian, but if it could not be, they would not say no to a possible arrival of the Slovenian;
At the moment, they re-signed Carlos Rodriguez from a pre-agreement with Movistar Team and it seems that Geraint Thomas could renew for next year. They still have young British talent and the reality of Tom Pidcock, but considering that they are the team (so far) with the highest budget in cycling, it is hard to think that they will not reinforce more for next season;
So, like the rest of the teams, they are currently awaiting the possible merger between Jumbo-Visma and Soudal Quick-Step to see which riders will be left free after a deal that, if it happens, will leave a lot of talent on the cycling market. There is no doubt that Evenepoel and Roglic are two very realistic proposals? What will happen to them?
