The finale of stage 2 at the 2025 AlUla Tour has descended into confusion and chaos with the race neutralised momentarily and around 30km of the course cut from the run to the line.
Heading into the final 20km, just Jens Reynders and Simone Raccani remained in the break, but the peloton was bearing down on them and within a minute of the catch. Very curiously though, the race was then neutralised momentarily and subsequently cut by around 30km due to issues with the road surface. According to some reports, only the final 5km climb will now be raced, giving plenty of riders hope for a stage victory.
The race is neutralized until 5 km to go according to @Q36_5ProCycling . So we'll still have a race up the climb, I don't think it changes much racing wise but it just looks unprofessional. #AlUlaTour pic.twitter.com/Y5sTwlbBDf
