Clément Russo DNS | Giro d'Italia's first Covid-19 case found

The days leading up to the Giro d'Italia were filled with tension because of Covid-19 as several riders within Jumbo-Visma tested positive. Since, however, no others have been found, until this morning as Clément Russo becomes the first casualty in the race.

The Arkéa Samsic rider has tested positive for Covid and has been taken out of the race. He is the first positive case whilst the race is ongoing and a reminder that the risk in the peloton exists. Stage 6 will be a day for the sprinters where he was expected to play a key supporting role for David Dekker.
