"Cháves has two more years on his contract with us" - Jonathan Vaughters denies Esteban Chaves's departure from the team

Amid rumours of Esteban Chaves's departure from EF Education-EasyPost, Team boss Jonathan Vaughters has now come forward with clarification.

The French newspaper L'Équipe recently published an article about Chave's departure, which caught Vaughters' attention. He informed that the Colombian still has two years left with the team, and he doesn't plan on leaving.

“Shows you how well L’Equipe does their research. Cháves has two more years on his contract with us. We intentionally never announce how many years are on contracts. It isn’t our job to release details on contracts, but we’re happy to answer if asked,” wrote Vaughters on Twitter.

The team is welcoming Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz into the coming season, and alongside compatriot Rigoberto Uran, the trio will form the bulk of EF's mountain block.
