INEOS Grenadiers finally hit the pedal when it comes to the transfer season. After the renewal of Geraint Thomas, the British team now announce that it's young breakthrough talent Carlos Rodríguez has signed a new contract for 4 more years.
All the way into 2027, the British team was incredibly keen on keeping Rodríguez. After the departure of many of it's GC riders, and the rise of climbers from rivals teams, INEOS found themselves in a tough competition where their power in the Grand Tours have diminished significantly. Rodríguez was heavily linked to join up with Movistar Team, however the Tour de France changed that.
There, the 22-year old finished fifth in the overall classification and rode to victory in Morzine, where he finished ahead of both Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard. The goal for the British team seems clear, they want that on a regular basis. Rodríguez has become the team's most prominent stage-racer alongside Thomas, and may become the head figure in coming years.
Besides his results at the Tour de France, Rodríguez also finished in the Top10 of the Criterium du Dauphiné and Il Lombardia, and won the queen stage of the Tour of Britain.
