The rumour that
Benoît Cosnefroy would be a last-minute addition to the World Championships' Road Race was recently said, and with a flight to Australia included it would be very hard to believe otherwise. Today his participation has been confirmed.
Team national coach Thomas Voeckler has officially announced the riders who would be racing in a press conference, with Cosnefroy filling in the spot which has been left by
Rémi Cavagna who participated in both Individual Time-Trial and the Mixed Relay TTT. Cosnefroy has won the recent GP de Québec and rode to second at Amstel Gold Race and Brabantse Pijl earlier in the year, putting him in an outsider position for the race.
