ASO and Netflix likely to sign deal over Tour de France-based series

It has been reported that there are currently talks between ASO, Netflix and eight World Tour teams over the creation of a Tour de France 2022 based series that could be announced soon.

As reported by British media outlet The Telegraph, there are talks currently going on regarding a series that could be done with this year's Tour de France, to be aired on Netflix. It is said that in the project there are also talks with Box to Box Films, the creators of the popular Formula 1 series Drive to Survive, and that similar creations could also have an increase in popularity of cycling by introducing it to a new audience.

In the last few years it has become increasingly popular from teams to direct their own series which have been widely well received by cycling fans. These have included Jumbo-Visma and most famously Movistar Team who have developed their own series with Netflix called 'El Dia Menos Pensado' (The least thought day) which has aired two seasons, and the third is set to be released this coming spring.

Although nothing is yet confirmed, it is expected that the project can be officially announced in the coming weeks.
