Another Red Bull Bora theft from Visma confirmed: Jan Tratnik will ride for the German team!

The still BORA - hansgrohe team (soon to be joined by Red Bull) continues to make waves at the cycling market.

It has been known for months and now it has been confirmed by market journalist Daniel Benson, Jan Tratnik will ride for the German team for the next 3 seasons thus giving Visma | Lease a Bike the boot. According CiclismoAlDía's Juan Larra, It is tremendous to think that even the strongest teams can suffer 'thefts' in their squads and that is what has just happened to the Dutch team.

BORA wants to take a step forward in the cycling elite and get closer to the superteams, Visma and UAE Team Emirates, and for that the team's aware it has to reinforce in order to stand a chance in as many races as possible. The landing of the Slovenian, together with the more than likely arrival of the Spaniard Oier Lazkano, and two more Visma riders; the twins Tim and Mick van Dijke would give the German team much more strength in the spring classics.

The 34-year-old Tratnik, is in the best moment of his sporting career as evidenced by his impressive victory this year at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. This year he was also second in Murcia, third in Jaén Paraiso and made the podium in the Volta ao Algarve. At the Giro he could not contribute too much to his team's ambitons due to streak of bad luck, although he came close to victory in stage 10 to Bocca della Selva finishing third.

In total, the Slovenian can count 12 professional victories in his career so far, including 4 Slovenian time trial championships, although it is true that most of his victories are in smaller races like Tour of Slovakia. But he's also won big in his career, taking a Giro stage in 2020, or the most recent victory at Omloop.
