Another blow for Lotto-Intermarché as Lennert van Eetvelt transfer confirmed as he'll take leadership role with new team

Lennart van Eetvelt's future has been confirmed as his transfer to NSN Cycling Team has been officially announced. Leaving Lotto-Intermarché, he has signed a deal with his new team until the end of the 2029 season.
The 25-year-old Belgian has established himself as a high level climber and stage racer since turning professional in 2023. He has taken overall wins in WorldTour races such as the UAE Tour and Tour of Guangxi.
The Ardennes classics and stage race leadership is on the agenda at NSN, with the team noting that he can continue to develop with the team thanks to the long-term contract.
General Manager Kjell Carlström said that they've followed his development closely as they announced the transfer.
“Lennert Van Eetvelt is a rider we have followed closely over the past years and we’re very pleased to welcome him to the team. Lennert has already demonstrated his ability to win at WorldTour level, particularly in demanding stage races, and we believe he can continue to develop over the coming seasons with us.

“What stands out is not only his climbing ability, but also the way he races. He is willing to take opportunities when they present themselves and has shown that he can finish off races against strong competition.
"Whether it’s targeting the GC in stage races, the Ardennes classics, or showing what he can do in the mountains in Grand Tours, we are excited to see what Lennert can do in NSN colors.”
For van Eetvelt, NSN is the logical next step for him as he seeks an environment to take his career to the next level. Noting his desire to win more races, he wants to improve his tally from four individual and two overall victories.
Van Eetvelt believes he made the right choice
"I was looking for an international and professional environment to take the next step in my career,” Van Eetvelt said. “NSN felt like the perfect fit for that so I’m really looking forward to joining the team and seeing what we can do together over the next three years.”
“I want to win more races no matter what they are,” he said.
“I know what my capabilities are, and I want to build the strongest palmarès I can from them so I hope to hit the ground running in 2027. I’m confident I have made the right choice and together, we will win races.”
The confirmed move further underlines an exodus of emerging talent from the team in recent seasons, with Arnaud de Lie also departing over winter. In recent seasons, the team lost Maxim van Gils and Florian Vermeesch among others to transfers to leading WorldTour teams.
