The first stage of the Women's Tour Down Under was won by Ally Wollaston. Taking over the first ochre jersey, the New Zealander was the fastest sprinter on the opening stage.
Stage 1 of the Australian race was the easiest and had a flat finale in Campbelltown where the sprinters were expected to shine. It was no doubt then to see a bunch sprint come to light, Wollaston was the fastest in the push to the line, beating Georgia Baker and Sofia Bertizzolo to become the first leader of the race.
