Alexis Renard's season comes to a halt due to cardiac issues

Alexis Renard is scheduled for surgery at Nantes University Hospital. The French rider suffers from cardiac arrhythmia, which forced him to stop cycling this season.

He was tenth in the general classification of the Saudi Tour. He last participated in the French national championship before deciding to go for surgery, "During an effort, I have a rising heart rate like everyone else. But when I stop riding, the intensity is the same," explained Renard.

He was supposed to have surgery in October, but he opted to move it forward to August 3. Following that, he must adhere to three-month anticoagulant treatment. “Of course, it's not an easy phase to get through mentally, especially as I won't be able to race again until February next year. But I feel that the team is behind me and this support is very valuable for me," concludes Renard.
