After showing impressive form recently, winning the Giro d'Abruzzo and securing a top-10 finish at Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Alexey Lutsenko is set to try and take advantage by leading the Astana Qazaqstan Team at the upcoming Giro d'Italia.
This report comes from well-respected Gazzetta journalist Ciro Scognamiglio who cites Astana Qazaqstan Team sources from the recent Tour of Turkey. "A source that in last days was at Tour of Turkey told us that there will be a change in Astana Qazaqstan Team selection for Giro d'Italia and Alexey Lutsenko will be at the start from Venaria Reale on Saturday," the report reads.
In his most recent outing, Lutsenko was a DNF on stage 2 of the Tour de Romandie, potentially with the upcoming Grand Tour in mind.
