Alexey Lutsenko abandons 2024 Tour de France in tears on stage 17

2024 has not been the year for Alexey Lutsenko as far as the Grand Tours go. After abandoning the Giro d'Italia earlier in the season, the Kazakh rider has now departed the Tour de France on stage 17.
With the pace incredibly high and the sun making the day blisteringly hot, Lutsenko was surprisingly dropped from the peloton alone very early on stage 17. After battling on for more than 50km, eventually the Astana Qazaqstan Team leader pulled to the side of the road and after breaking down in tears, was emotionally ushered into the back of his team car and off the race.

It couldn't be that Greg wants to be sure he's always known as the only USA winner of TDF could it? Give it a rest Greg. Armstrong's 7 (!) TDF wins should still be acknowledged as wins & only struck if all known dopers' wins are struck eg Bjarne Riis' 2005 win (Riis has since publicly admitted he was on EPO), Marco Pantani's win 1998 (obviously was on EPO), Jan Ullrich's win 1997 (publicly admitted took EPO, steroids thru his career), etc. The cyclingnews.com site has the same problem whenever Armstrong comes up.
